The Hubble Space Telescope has been exploring the universe for over 30 years! Launched in 1990, Hubble orbits Earth at 5 miles per second, fast enough to cross the U.S. in just 10 minutes!

It captures stunning images of stars being born and dying, galaxies trillions of miles away, and even comets crashing into Jupiter. #258STEMFacts #STEMinASL #HubbleTelescope #SpaceScience #Astronomy

Transcript: The NASA Hubble Space Telescope, a telescope as long as a large school bus, was launched in space in 1990. Hubble travels around Earth at about 5 miles per second. That is as fast as driving a car from the East Coast of the United States to the West Coast in 10 minutes. It takes pictures of planets, stars and galaxies. Hubble has seen stars being born. Hubble has seen stars die. It has seen galaxies that are trillions of miles away. Hubble also has seen comet pieces crash into the gases above Jupiter. In 2020, Hubble turned 30 years old and still takes beautiful pictures of objects in space. Very interesting!
